Chennai:
Lieutenant General Jagbir Singh took over the command of
Andhra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala area here on Monday.
He is a 1978 batch officer and was commissioned in 8 Mechanized Infantry
(7 Punjab).
He was awarded Sena Medal for gallantry in the Jammu and
Kashmir (J&K). The General Officer commanded an Infantry Division on the
Western Front.
The General Officer has varied exposure in different
command as staff appointments including the Perspective Planning Directorate
and Master General Ordnance Branch in the Army Headquarters.
