Chennai:
Tamil Nadu will permit employment of women in night shifts besides accord permission to flexibility in hiring contract labour, according to the new state industrial policy.
The policy document states that flexibility in labour laws will be adopted without compromising on labour welfare.
Tamil Nadu also proposes to reserve 10 per cent of land area for promotion of social infrastructure like housing, service apartments, hospitals, restaurants in the industrial parks.
The policy document states that developers of industrial parks, special economic zones, industry clusters would be provided incentives to set up desalination plants, waste water treatment and recycling plants.
The government will also encourage industries to undertake large waste water treatment and recycling plants on public private partnership mode for treating urban sewage to industrial grade water
