Madras HC issues notices to police, collector, corpn commissioner on digital banners


Chennai:
Madras High Court has issued notices to Chennai Collector, Police Commissioner and Chennai Corporation Commissioner after Traffic Ramaswamy filed a contempt of court petition.
The first bench comprising of acting chief justice Satish K Agnihotri and justice K K Sasidharan issued notice to district collector Sundaravalli, police commissioner K George, Corporation Commissioner Vikram Kapoor, assistant commissioner of police K Ramachandran and assistant commissioner of police S Siva Baskar.
The notice was issued after Traffic Ramsamy filed the contempt of court proceeding stating that the law enforcing agencies failed to remove digital banners obstructing public movement. He also urged the High Court to direct  Chennai Corporation to file status report on number of digital banners erected and quantum of caution deposit amount collected  and the conditions violated As per the order dated February 18, 2014.
