Chennai:
The additional chief metropolitan magistrate has denied
bail to the director of Zylog systems after he was arrested for evading service
taxes.
The magistrate A Zakir Hussain denied bail to Ramanujam
Sesharathnam, director of Zylog Systems, for non payment of service tax worth
Rs 2.94 crore as he is a US citizen and if released on bail it will be difficult
to secure him.
“There are chances for the petitioner to tamper with
evidence and witnesses. More over investigation is pending and the accused is
released on bail at this juncture, it will hamper investigation. The court is
not inclined to allow the bail petition,” said Hussain.
