Chennai:
Income tax sleuths on Tuesday conducted searches at the premises and
branches of a reputed jewellery store.
Income tax sources said that the searches were conducted at nine
places, including three in Chennai and one in Pondicherry.
The searches were carried out by several teams. The searches began
around 8am and is still continuing, sources said.
Sources said the searches are being conducted on suspicion of tax evasion.
