CII to host 10th edition of Foodpro in Chennai from Aug 30

Chennai:

More than 150 exhibitors from across the globe will participate in the Confederation of Indian Industry's (CII) 10th edition of the Indian Food Processing & Food Technology Fair - Foodpro 2013 from August 30- September 1, at Chennai Trade Centre here.

The expo will focus on the current trends in food processing industry, showcase innovation through modern technology, build brand and create awareness - with its cross-over concept covering food processing, packaging, storage and retailing with a process orientation and cross sector approach

Participants from Australia, China, Denmark, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Sweden and UK will be showcasing innovations in food processing and related technologies.

"The agriculture sector continues to be the largest sector in the country employing 58pc of the population. Food processing sector has become a catalyst for the development of Indian Agriculture and is of enormous significance to India’s development owing to the vital linkages and synergies that it promotes between the two pillars of our economy, industry and agriculture" said B Santhanam, Chairman, CII – Southern Region.
