Chennai:
A section of advocates lead by senior advocate G Rajagopalan has formed Courts Dignity Protection Group to press for action against erring lawyers who disrupted court proceedings on March 20.
Rajagopalan said that the group will be appealing to the judiciary and other statutory bodies to take action against the erring lawyers including initiation of contempt proceedings.
Advocates sporting black cloths laid siege to the Chief Justice’s court on March 20 demanding withdrawal of an administrative order issued by the high court administration in 1994 disallowing Tamil for arguments and judgments.
“While fighting for corruption free society, we should not take law into our own hands and bring down the reputation of judiciary and bar,” Rajagopalan stated.
