Chennai:
In a bid to boost better US-Tamil Nadu trade collaboration and provide suggestions to improve ease of doing business in the state, the US-India Business Council (USIBC) leading an executive delegation to the Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet 2015.
USIBC, which is also an official partner organization will be in Chennai from September 8-10. The delegation includes senior representatives from member companies including Amway, NCR Corporation, Uber, PayPal, SunEdison, Ford, IBM, and General Electric.
There are over 250 US companies across several industry sectors already investing in Tamil Nadu.
Diane Farrell, executive vice-president of USIBC, who will lead the delegation, said that this Investors Meet will serve as an excellent opportunity for USIBC member companies interested in a wide range of sectors including aerospace, agriculture, infrastructure, informational technology, and renewable energy.
The Council will host a welcome reception on the evening of Tuesday in Chennai to provide the delegation an opportunity to interact with key representatives from the Indian industry, state government and the US Consulate in Chennai.
Over the two days of the Investors Meet, the Council will be facilitating in-person interactions for the delegates with senior government officials to discuss investment opportunities in the state.
On September 10, USIBC member companies will participate in a panel discussion and showcase their investments in the state over a special seminar allocated by the state government.
